Just look around you, other day 100 dead in Tibet violence, Russian president gets slammed for being able to retain power in government, and then we have Iran and its potential troubles and so many more little things happening in Iraq and Afghanistan etc.

And on Friday past, President Hugo Chavez dared the U.S. to put Venezuela on its infamous “hit list” of countries that are considered to be potential supporters of terrorism. As you can see Mr. Chavez only sees this as another attempt by USA to put him to the world as a Dictator.

Let’s be honest, America hates any state that shows the slightest sign of being the worldpower, even if it means if that said country gets this title by legitimate means i.e. China. So you can only imagine how much it bugs them that such an arrogant, influential and anti-American-policy type man can be right there in their backyards, when, they must have been relieved lately to hear that Castro had let go his hold on power just recently after years, years of worries by his ploys. Others on this so-called “hit list” are North Korea, Iran, Syria, Sudan and Cuba which to be honest, over the years have shown resistance to world togetherness.

Some would think that with the tenseness of this world, the itchy trigger fingers of terrorists, that it is perfect time to see Bush out, as it’s hard for America to even have proper policy talks with countries because they do see Bush as the untouchable version of Saddam. I think the Republicans picked the right nominee to go up for president, he’s strong, smart, and has been around long enough.

But in this 21st century, it might be a blessing in disguise if a Democratic candidate wins
the up-coming election, becomes president, and calms the world at least for another 4 years.

Small business website domain owners are scrambling at the news that some domains they own might be in jeopardy with this new “anti-phishing bill” introduced, which if passed, could just be an avenue for companies or persons with more money than you, more known than you, to just swipe you from the face of the Internet.

Simply put, it would give anyone the right – anyone with enough money and power and some kind of souped-up case against your domain, and have the name trademarked – to just take you down. E.g. say someone has a site called example.com established and trademarked, and you now having created example101.com could see you having legal troubles. I’m not sure how this works, I would hope that it means they will go after sites that diliberately partake in copy-cating sites and squatting for gain and for mischievous reasons, and not for abuse of power which seems to be the tide of the world these days.

ok, and so do sober people. But unfortunately, the first thing that comes to mind when it comes around to this time of year is liquor, and massive amounts of drinking, bar fights etc..

But let’s get to what St. Patricks day really is.
St. Patrick is believed to have driven the snakes from Ireland. Once a pagan himself, St. Patrick is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures.

The modern secular holiday is based on the original Christian saint’s feast day also thought to be the date of the saint’s death. In 1737, Irish immigrants to the United States began observing the holiday publicly in Boston and held the first St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City in 1766.

Saint Patrick’s Day was celebrated at first only as a religious holiday, and became a public holiday in 1903. The first St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in the Irish Free State in Dublin in 1931.

And then came the 1990’s! the Irish government began a campaign to use Saint Patrick’s Day to showcase Ireland and its culture, great idea eh? I love festivals that celebrate culture, I mean love. The first Saint Patrick’s Festival was held on 17 March 1996. In 1997, it became a three-day event, and by 2000 it was a four-day event. By 2006, the festival was five days long.

I was reading this wiki posting and other articles, and now it does appear that Microsoft is at it again after months of speculation. Yes my friends, another bleeping Microsoft Windows Operating system is coming out –going by the name Windows 7 for now — and most of us are still trying to figure out why the hell Win Xp causes us so much trouble!

Now of course they are not coming out bluntly and saying “yeah we’re going
to make something new so we can brush off Vista’s close failure, and try to gain costomer trust again” they just let enough information leak to cause the geek culture to become aware, and when you notify the geeks, the geeks make the world know.

But for me, it’s too late. The only reason most of us even bother using Microsoft products is because, well, most of us use PCs. My guess is that Apple will be the brand name to knock off windows if windows keeps coming out with half finished fanfare and bug-filled products.

My vote is for this new Microsoft product to be free for a year, whether by download or whatever means, it would be a great payback to us for the lameness over the years, and the trust we’ve given only to be dissapointed over and over. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent product, but sometimes I think they are more concerned with taking over everything rather than sarisfying us; the people who made them an empire.

Oh, i can’t wait for 2010, the last chance a Windows system has to impress me.

What better way to start my blog? Lets talk about our friend from New York, Governor Spitzer, who has found himself wrapped in a Prostitute scandal, and will resign effective Monday. But before I elaborate more about Spitzer, I would like to congratulate David Paterson – who is legally blind — on possibly becoming the first Black  person to see his way in as Governor of N.Y.

Now back to the man at hand, Mr. Spitzer (doesn’t the name already cause you some concern?), the man using your tax dollars well I might add, and still has a bill outstanding after buying sex. I will pose this question, that can go up for debate:
1. Do you believe that power attracts trouble, or is it that powerful people find the idea of getting away with mischief a getaway from the day to  day job?

This is not the first time that a politician has done things in this nature, we all remember Bill Clinton, the funny thing about this is that because of him and his denial, people have found and learned that it is easier to just be honest, that way you might even get your wife to stand behind you while you tell the world you’re a complete failure and hypocrite to all that you stand for, and should be hanged immediately, just kidding.

I’ll end on these thoughts.

* People should not bring spouses with them in public soon after turmoil like this.
In no way is having your wife or child behind you while spilling your dirt beneficial in anyway. It’s selfishness that brought them there anyway, they should bare the consequences alone.

* We should no longer be surprised when people in power do things to ruin their grip on it.
After-all, after having power, what is there left to do other than trying to defy power itself?
